Unassuming - Established - Trustworthy. The popular choice for general charge applications. Charge results are consistently reliable if the charger matches the battery type (Gel-, Wet-, AGM- or Calcium) and it's size (capacity).
Factory-set charge parameters aim at safe charge results for popular battery types only. MEC, being the manufacturer, customizes charge parameter settings during the production process, upon request.
The Task-300 easily converts from a Dektop unit to a Wall Mount Charger, by attaching a pair of mounting brackets. The 4-way DC-terminal block at the front panel allows the user to connect DC-lead wires of his preferred choice. A 3-pin IEC-connector at the rear of the charger supports universal mains-in with detachable AC-cords, with any country specific plug configuration.
3-step charging: 'Stage 1' bulk-charges with constant current, in tandem with the gradually increasing charge voltage, up to 80% of battery capacity. At this point charging transfers to 'Stage 2', with the charge voltage levelling out flat, causing the current to steadily decline over a fixed length of time.
The charging process, now changing to 'Stage 3', float- or trickle charges permanently connected batteries with a small enough current to ensure the user of reliable back-up power. Power failures will always trigger a fresh charge cycle upon every mains return.
