The JOE means CHOICE: 1 out of 4 resident Charge Programs will be a best match for the battery type in use. The Power Supply Mode comes in handy for parallel charging or for holding over the bord voltage during battery swaps, thus preventing loss of system data.

A Multi-Phase Charge Program, typical: Deep-Discharge Recovery is automatically initiated by a series of controlled pulse trains, to be followed by a Soft-Charge-, a Constant Current- and a Constant Voltage Phase. The charge routine now transfers to the Float Charge Phase if the charge current has dropped to a pre-set, lower current threshold or if a given time limit has been reached, whichever is first. Float Charging can be skipped and replaced by Auto-Recharge instead, triggered by a set number of days elapsed or a given voltage drop across the battery terminals.

Custom-Tailored Charge Programs: Should the pre-set Charge Programs for Gel-, Wet-, AGM- and Ca-Batteries, or values for the Power Supply Mode, not meet the user's particular needs, MEC will customize the programs and write it to the JOE's controller, via the integrated IR-Data Port.

Battery Temperature Sensing: The charge voltage is auto-compensated for by external temperature sensing. Arctic- or desert-like temperatures are not an issue.

The Pull-Out Suspension Bracket: Hooking the JOE across an edge or the lowered window pane of a car, suspends it above water puddles, mud or oil spills.
